Vallejo Times-Herald: Vallejo schools work to rebuff copper thieves

It was a heist worthy of the Grinch himself.

On Christmas, someone broke into the Vallejo High School campus, damaging a set of portables to strip copper from the buildings near the back fields.

But when the suspected thief returned a few days later, the school was ready.

“We set up a sting operation,” said Mel Jordan, assistant superintendent of the Vallejo City Unified School District.
