BENICIA — School and city officials preliminarily agreed Thursday to look into improving Benicia High School’s football field and track.City officials view the project as a possible benefit to the greater community that would expand public recreation opportunities.

School officials and parents have been pushing the idea for safety reasons and because existing facilities are no longer on par with those of many other schools.
