Daily Republic reporter David DeBolt has done a nice job of covering the cuts made Feb. 24 by the Fairfield Suisun School District, but he failed to mention that the school board voted to take all of the state funding for the Gifted and Talented Education program and use it for other purposes. Apparently this will eliminate GATE, since this funding pays for testing children for the program and providing staff development.
