Daily Republic: Travis School District releases budget reduction options

FAIRFIELD — A list of possible options to close the Travis School District’s $1.4 million deficit relies heavily on cuts to employee pay and benefits.

District officials released the list of cuts at a school board meeting earlier this week. The preliminary list calls for a cut of $59,000 per month in employee dental benefits totaling $708,000, a $10,700 per month cut in employee vision benefits totaling $128,400, furlough days saving $162,688 and cutting the salary of all employees by 1 percent, a savings of $299,622.
