The Reporter: Vacaville Museum offers children lessons on Patwin heritage

Elementary school teachers may be feeling pinched these days, as still more state budget cutbacks loom in the near future, but they realize what a museum can do.

They know their students, let loose or guided by a docent in a museum, can make real links to history, their heritage, art or the natural world. They know museums can help them learn or boost basic skills, like looking closely at things and critical thinking.
