The Reporter: Vacaville school financial officer post made permanent

Last fall she called her job “a temporary gig” as interim chief business officer for Vacaville Unified School District.

But at Thursday’s board of trustees meeting, making good on a previous statement to The Reporter, that “I never say never,” Kari Sousa accepted the permanent job as associate superintendent for business and administrative services.

Randy Henry, the district’s chief human resources officer, made the announcement at the meeting. She replaces Steven Shields, who resigned in March in the wake of his arrest late last year on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
