Vallejo Times-Herald: Vallejo Youth Summit draws hundreds

For hundreds of children, this week’s Youth Summit was a chance to understand, and sometimes reach, their potential.

“Oh, don’t tell me what you can’t do,” said a pleased Eugene Cole, who spent about an hour Tuesday afternoon getting a hundred young men and women to harmonize.

The choir was just a small part of the four-day Youth Summit, organized by the North Bay Minister’s Union and hosted at Friendship Baptist Church.

Besides the performance classes, including the choir and a dance class, participants were encouraged to go to seminars with titles ranging from “Heroes,” “Conflict Resolution,” and “Swag 101.”
