DIXON — The Dixon School District has named an interim principal for Dixon High to replace John Barsotti.
The school board voted unanimously Thursday to appoint Nick Girimonte as acting principal of Dixon High for the 2012-13 school year. Girimonte is a Dixon native, Dixon High School graduate and has worked as a teacher and as an administrator for the past three years.
Superintendent Brian Dolan said Girimonte interviewed for the principal job last year and he was the runner-up to Barsotti. The board earlier this month decided not to renew Barsotti’s contract.
