VACAVILLE — It was better late than never for Vacaville’s Kelly Berryman, as she was part of the third and final group named college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship award winners.
Berryman joins around 8,000 other graduates, out of a field of 1.5 million applicants, who will receive annual financial assistance as they head off to college. The recent group was announced Monday and included was the musically inclined teen’s name with an award from Whitman College, a liberal arts college of about 1,100 students in Wala Wala, Wash.
