The disposition of the Gomer School site in Fairfield’s Suisun Valley is the focus of the Solano County Board of Education’s newly appointed 7-11 Advisory Committee.
California Education Code section 17387 requires educational agencies to appoint a 7-11 Advisory Committee in order to provide community input prior to making the best possible judgment about the use of excess school property. The Committee is so named due to state legislative requirements of at least 7 but no more than 11 members.
On May 9, 2012, the Solano County Board of Education appointed 9 community members to a 7-11 Advisory Committee in order to provide recommendations on the disposition of the Gomer School site as potential surplus property.
