FAIRFIELD — As a newly hired consultant overseeing Solano Community College’s police operations, retired Vacaville Lt. Ed Golberg is moving quickly filling vacancies and analyzing security needs on the campus.
Goldberg’s hiring comes on the heels of Solano College administration placing Police Chief Steven Dawson on paid administrative leave last week, President-Superintendent Jowel Laguerre said.
Laguerre would not say why he put Dawson on paid leave, saying it was a confidential personnel issue. He added he did inform board members of his decision. Goldberg, who retired from Vacaville’s police department in 2010, began his duties on Thursday.
