Daily Republic: Solano College moves forward with solar plans

FAIRFIELD — Solano College officials will spend the next week or so fielding offers for a $12.3 million project that will bring solar panels to all three campuses.

The Solano Community College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Wednesday to direct staff to hire a firm and to move forward with selling bonds for the project.

Solano college received the money after bidding for unused funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and plans to install 2.5 megawatts at the Fairfield location, consisting mostly of in-ground panels.
