The Reporter: Solano Community College looks to future with Measure Q

By Sarah Rohrs/ Times-Herald, Vallejo

Solano Community College recently replaced outdated microscopes, and its aeronautics program is housed in a small hangar at Vacaville’s Nut Tree Airport.

Likewise, the Vallejo Center has virtually no student services, its library is barely bigger than a closet and the parking lot is too small.

These and other issues are why SCC has placed Measure Q, a $348 million general obligation bond, on the Nov. 6 ballot, President Jowel Laguerre said.

College district voters are still paying off a bond which funded building of the Vallejo and Vacaville centers, plus a host of other renovations and improvements.
