FAIRFIELD — Suisun Valley School students got up bright and early Saturday to clean up their school garden and learned about the origins of good food.
Students spent the morning hours tending to and picking the food that they would eat three hours later. To further teach where food comes from, educators encouraged students and parents to participate in a chili cook-off.
Several teams competed against one another, using their own homemade recipe, using the ingredients they picked from the school garden.
