Longtime educator Monica Brown’s vision for Solano Community College includes making it a place “that will bring our students back.”Once again a candidate for SCC Trustee Area 5, the Fairfield resident noted that some Solano County students in the last several years have enrolled in either Napa Valley College in Napa or Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill.

The reason? Those schools offer the classes that local students want or need to transfer to a four-year college or to complete vocational training and certification, said Brown, 59, an eighth-grade teacher at Green Valley Middle School.
