FAIRFIELD — Instructors can only navigate half the area while walking down the faculty hallway between labs and classrooms at Solano college’s Fairfield campus because liquids, beakers and other supplies are stacked to the ceiling in the makeshift storage area.
The chemical area at the end of the Solano College science building is equally confined, with warning labels directing how to handle the sensitive teaching tools. It also sits just across the walkway from buildings that house children’s programs and a playground for youngsters.
A schedule for the lab that features cadavers is nearly blacked out, with 10 classes booked for the semester, the most that can physically be housed there.
