SCOE News and Announcements: Buckingham Charter Magnet High School selected to apply for 2013 California Distinguished School

FAIRFIELD – Buckingham Charter Magnet High School has been successfully preparing students for college and careers since it opened in 1994. Now the school has been notified by the California Department of Education (CDE) that its student success may once again be recognized with the prestigious California Distinguished School award. Buckingham was previously recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2007.

“I’m so proud of our students, staff, and parents at Buckingham; really our whole school community!” said Principal Jeff Erickson. “It’s their hard work and commitment to pursuing high standards of academics and character that has put us in this position of being selected to apply for California Distinguished School recognition. It’s quite an honor.”
