VACAVILLE, Calif. — After Vacaville police got word of a suicidal man who was armed with a gun in his home with his wife Friday morning, two nearby schools were placed on lockdown for more than an hour, a city spokesman said.
Police were alerted about the armed man in the 300 block of Shasta Drive around 10:20 a.m.
Nearby Fairmont Elementary School, at 1355 Marshall Road, and Will C. Wood High School, located at 998 Marshall Road, were placed on lockdown, Vacaville spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said.
