In 2006, Spiro and Shelly Kontogiannis adopted Armijo High School, donating one gift certificate per month for lunch at their restaurant, THE ATHENIAN GRILL. Armijo teachers recognized a “Student of the Month” for improved attendance or academic performance. In 2008, they adopted Rodriguez High School, as well. In the past six years, THE ATHENIAN GRILL donated over $55,000 in gift certificates to support student achievement at Armijo and Rodriguez High Schools.
