Daily Republic Letter: FSUSD Students shortchanged

Karen McCall, Fairfield

I thought the Fairfield-Suisun School District’s job was to put the needs and best interests of the students first. So why, when the furlough days have been given back to the classified employees, are the students still being kept out of school for five days this school year?

All of the teachers and classified employees will be at work on those days, but the students will be at home losing five days of learning. The school district will be losing the average daily attendance money from the state for all of its students on those days.
