Well, color me surprised! The Vacaville Unified School District board voted to move its elections to even-numbered years.
In the past, school board members (and candidates) ran for office in “off-year” elections. This is common.
History has shown that voters get school board candidates confused with city council candidates. Just imagine: five people run for city council, seven people run for school board (typical numbers) and several run for city treasurer. Voters have to sort out 14 or more local candidates.
