Like many other teacher unions across California, Dixon Unified’s awaits the governor’s May state budget revision, with the governor’s new school funding formula and a cost-of-living adjustment their top concerns.
After hearing several elementary principals speak Thursday during a governing board meeting, Amy Circo, co-president of Dixon Teachers Association, apparently felt prompted to point out an omission in some school leaders’ remarks, namely, the need for a pay boost after “six years of flat funding,” the consequence of the Great Recession and the steep fall in property tax revenues brought on by the home foreclosure crisis.
