Vacaville-area teachers have entered into new contract talks in their respective districts, but union leaders — buoyed by voter-approved, tax-raising Proposition 30 and increased revenues pouring into Sacramento — say their requests for salary increases and any negotiation outcomes will ultimately depend on final approval of state and district budgets for 2013-14.
“There’s still a lot in the air, including Gov. Jerry Brown’s Local Control Funding Formula and how it will affect us,” Moira McSweeney, president of the 600-member Vacaville Teachers Association, said Wednesday.
