The Reporter: Travis Unified School District board adopts $40.1 million budget

Facing more red ink and less revenue than they did last year, Travis Unified leaders on Tuesday adopted a $40.1 million budget for 2013-14, with no plans for cost-of-living adjustments for staff or class-size reductions.

The five-member board of trustees’ decision comes even as state officials earlier this year projected that the 5,100-student district, which has some schools in Vacaville, may not be able to pay its bills for the current year or the two subsequent fiscal years, putting it on “qualified” financial status.
