Dixon Unified trustees unanimously voted to move forward Thursday with plans to bring an assistant superintendent back to the school district. At the recommendation of Superintendent Brian Dolan, the trustees agreed to re-classify the senior director of educational services position to assistant superintendent of educational services, effective for the next school year. Susan Girimonte currently serves as the senior director of educational services but she will be retiring at the end of the school year. Dolan believes that re-classifying the position will help the district to attract a more broad range of qualified applicants.
