Vallejo schools could see $10 million budget increase – Vallejo Times Herald

Vallejo schools could get an extra $10 million next year, should Gov. Jerry Brown’s budget proposal be approved.

But the district must still move forward cautiously, officials warned Wednesday night.

“We’re still not out of the woods yet. We must learn from the past and make sure we’re not over-committing our dollars,” said James Arcala, director of business services for the Vallejo City Unified School District.

Arcala pointed out unemployment in California is still higher than the national average.
