The Vallejo school board will hold a public hearing Wednesday night on a charter school petition from Caliber Charter School, which proposes to open a K-8 school in the city.
“Caliber is a nonprofit whose mission is to run high achieving, college preparatory charter schools,” according to the school’s website. “Our goal is to prepare all of our students for success in competitive four-year colleges and beyond.”
According to school district staff, the board of education has 60 days after submission of the petition to make a recommendation.
The board is expected to make a decision on June 3.The board will also review the elimination of three classified positions and the reduction of hours for two other district positions.
