To begin his speech at Dixon High School’s graduation ceremony Saturday, Principal Nick Girimonte told the crowd that filled the school’s football stadium a story of an “inexperienced, nervous, and overwhelmed young man” walking through the doors of the school four years ago.
“Even though he’d been in Dixon most of his life, he wasn’t sure what to expect,” he said. “Was he wearing the right clothes? “Would the teachers be nice? What about the students?”
