Among the voices of tradition at the Rodriguez High School graduation – those who spoke of the next chapter, enjoy the journey and cherish the memories – rang out voices of conscience, and one timely political jab.
Salma Srour, the president of the Class of 2016, quipped Friday about taking on the teachers’ unintended challenge of starting and finishing school projects on the day before they were due, and commending the philosophy that if you were going to be late anyway, then stop at Starbucks and be really late.
