Vallejo school board gets first candidate – Times Herald

By John Glidden

Resident Melissa Bandong Bowman is the first official Vallejo school board candidate for the fall election, the Solano County Registrar of Voters confirmed Monday.

Jeanette McCree-Goudeau pulled school board candidacy papers last week, according to the county.

She joins John Fox, Marianne Kearney-Brown, Bob Lawson, and Chidale O’Hara, who all pulled papers for a full term on the Vallejo City Unified School District Board of Education.

Two of the three seats open are full-term, while the third seat is a two-year term.

Elected in November 2014, Vallejo resident Richard Porter declined to be seated for the school board position. The school board selected Ruscal Cayangyang, who came in fourth during that election, to fill the seat until the next regular election.
