Kairos independent charter school update on Vacaville USD agenda tonight – The Reporter

By Richard Bammer

The leader of Kairos Public School Vacaville Academy will deliver his annual update for the K-8 independent charter school when Vacaville Unified trustees meet tonight in Vacaville.

Co-founder and executive director at the Elm Street campus, Jared Austin likely will deliver a glowing report on the school’s progress, including its newly established home-school program, its mission, school culture, parental involvement, state test score results, and the annual budget.

As an independent charter, Kairos, established by a divided and somewhat contentious board vote several years ago, established its own governing board, with some oversight and financial services provided by VUSD, with which it is aligned. Kairos, however, is ultimately governed by state education officials in Sacramento. The school is, essentially, an independent school district.
