In the years to come, plastic foam such as Styrofoam will disappear from Fairfield-Suisun School District campuses.
In its place will be recyclable plastics.
Marcos Ballesteros and Bella Velasquez – a couple of 2017 Sem Yeto High School graduates – will have had a lot to do with that.
“We did it last year, but we actually came back this year and the school district is actually implementing a part of it to reduce Styrofoam,” said Wes Lai, a science teacher at Sem Yeto, who is retiring.
