The students of the Fairfield-Suisun Adult School, through hard work and perseverance, graduated Thursday to the cheers of friends and family.
Blue and white balloons decorated Willow Hall, with more balloons, flowers, leis and gifts arriving with loved ones for the ceremony.
For Karen Orta-Gonzalez, getting to the stage for her high school graduation has taken more years than she ever expected. After having her son while attending school, she gradually stopped going and in a blink of an eye she was 22 years old and she realized she never learned to read or write. On top of that, English was a second language.
