The stadium sat empty. The parking lot not anywhere near capacity. Pomp and Circumstance was playing, but graduates weren’t walking toward a stage, they were driving to a station set up on asphalt for photos.
However, what remained at Vanden High School on a sunny and breezy Thursday morning were positive attitudes, excitement and an up-close experience for families as high school for Vikings seniors comes to a celebratory, if somewhat altered, end.
Graduates on Thursday rolled and will continue to roll Friday through the student and staff parking lots to receive their diplomas at the campus located just outside of Travis Air Force Base.
