Third-grade classes from Solano Widenmann Leadership Academy in Vallejo have captured the WERecycle! Challenge.

The month-long competition is held each year by the Solano Resource Conservation District and encourages third-graders to recycle bottles and cans to raise money for their classrooms.

Students in the Widenmann Leadership classrooms of teachers Jennifer Wheelhouse and Melissa Nilson collected 303 pounds of recyclables and raised $420.90.
