For the first time in five years, many Solano County teachers will not be facing the prospect of pink slips in mid-March, setting off collective sighs of relief from area school administrators and teachers knowing that virtually no full-time certificated employees will be given preliminary notices that they will not be rehired for the 2013-14 school year.The state Education Code requires school districts to give first notice no later than March 15, followed by a second notice no later than May 15.
