Vallejo Times-Herald Letters: Bishop’s statement on Vallejo schools didn’t go far enough

Michael New, Crockett

Although I didn’t attend the school board meeting where Dr. Bishop was quoted saying she would assist certain teachers to pack their boxes to move on to where they can find students they are devoted to educating, I agree with Dr. Bishop. I just don’t think her comments went far enough — we, the taxpayers, the citizens of this community, should all be ready to pack not only the boxes of the teachers who are not committed to our students, but also the boxes of the administrators who don’t know how to support educators. Managing an intellectual community is not the same as running a business or leading a military unit.
