FAIRFIELD — On a foggy, chilly Friday morning, the kindergarten class of Nelda Mundy Elementary School took an unexpected field trip from their classroom to another part of the school.
Walking across campus as fast as their little legs could handle, the children peered around and ahead, curious of where they were going and what they’d be doing.
Upon their arrival, the students’ eyes opened wide with excitement at what they saw: Tomatoes — big and small, red and yellow and ready to devour.
It’s finally harvest season at the Nelda Mundy Elementary garden.
