In the next two weeks, Vacaville public school leaders likely will select one of two executive search firms to begin the lengthy process of selecting and hiring a new superintendent.
The governing board of trustees must pick a superintendent to replace retired district Superintendent John Niederkorn, who, agreeing last spring to stay on for an additional year while drawing a nominal stipend, will step down June 30.
At Thursday’s trustees meeting, representatives from Leadership Associates and Dave Long & Associates, both based in Southern California, made their pitches to the seven-member board.
