State funding for the 2012-13 academic year took up the lion’s share of Thursday’s Vacaville Unified School District meeting, but the current year’s budget also came in for some scrutiny in an annual interim report.

Detailing the report, required by state law, Kari Sousa, interim assistant superintendent of business and administrative services, said the district posted $79 million in revenues, $87 million in expenses, but started out the year, beginning July 1, with $17.6 million as a beginning balance, leaving an ending balance of $10.7 million.
