Gov. Jerry Brown released his budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2013-14 last week, including changes he is recommending in how California will pay for education.
Representatives of Benicia Unified School District, Solano County and Solano Community College are examining that budget and talking about their first impressions of Brown’s suggestions.
“With the Governor’s Budget Proposal for 2013-14, Governor Brown proposes to completely change the way schools are funded by the state of California,” said Benicia Unified School District Chief Business Official Timothy Rahill. “Proposed state funding to California schools would be calculated by the ‘Local Control Funding Formula.’”
