Though the book “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother” came out a couple of years ago and shot to the top of the best-seller lists, I only read it recently.
Amy Chua, the Yale law professor and El Cerrito High School graduate, wrote the book and ignited a firestorm when she revealed how she was raising her then teenage daughters. She came under heavy criticism and even received a few death threats. The book also covered her Chinese upbringing and how this influenced her own parenting methods.
