Dixon Tribune’s Facebook Wall: Theater returns to Dixon High School

Brianna Boyd, Editor

It’s half past 5 p.m. Wednesday and while most of the Dixon High campus has fallen silent for the night, there is an air of excitement and enthusiasm inside the school’s theater that has not been seen in years.

On stage, a group of about a dozen Dixon High students are rehearsing a scene for what will be the school’s first production in over five years. “Into the Woods”, a musical fairytale farce written by Stephen Sondheim, will begin its two-week run next weekend. The 20 cast members and 10 backstage volunteers, all Dixon High students, are excited not only for their chance to perform, but also for what this play means for the school’s drama department and its future.
