The Reporter: Vanden High School robotics team ready to compete in national contest

The coming changes in the way science is taught in the U.S., Next Generation Science Standards, are already the practice in teacher Doug Green’s physics and robotics classes at Vanden High School.

Project-based learning, hands-on activities, collaboration, discussion — that has long been the game plan in his daily lessons, but especially for the RoboVikes, the school’s award-winning robotics team, 25 members of which today fly to St. Louis, where, Thursday to Saturday, they will vie against 400 other teams at the annual High School Robotics World Championship.
