SACRAMENTO – The state board of education refused Wednesday two Vallejo schools’ request for another chance to raise test scores, costing them a combined $2 million in funding.

Citing a desire to adhere to the accountability controls built into the Quality Education Investment Act, the board voted to deny Vallejo High and Cooper Elementary a fourth year to raise its average Academic Performance Index score.
