Mark Laluan contends “local oversight” is needed on the Solano Community College governing board of trustees.
As a candidate for SCC Trustee Area 5 (Fairfield), he believes trustees have a responsibility to ensure local interests are reflected in the college’s annual budgets and policies.
A history graduate student at California State University East Bay, Laluan asserts that the governing board “must refocus its efforts on promoting programs and classes” over expenditures for campus beautification.
If elected on Nov. 6, he promises “to build direct lines of communication with community leaders and local businesses,” he noted in an email.
