With exactly 30 days before the November general election, most Solano Community College trustee candidates in the Vacaville-Dixon and Fairfield districts turned in their first financial statements to the County Registrar of Voters Friday.
In Trustee Area 7 (Vacaville-Dixon), for the reporting period that ended Sept. 30, incumbent Phil McCaffrey Sr. of Vacaville reported total contributions, cash or in-kind donations, of $1,050, most of it from area union locals or labor councils, and total expenditures of $653. He listed an ending cash balance of $197.
He received $250 from Local 180 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union; $250 from Local 343 of the Plumbers and Steamfitters union; $100 from the Napa Solano Building Trades Council; and $150 from SCC Superintendent-President Jowel Laguerre.
