Fairfield High School Graduates Inspire FSUSD Elementary School Students – Daily Republic

By Kristen Witt

Fairfield High Seniors from the graduating class of 2017 traveled to several elementary schools this morning donning their caps and gowns. These “senior walks” inspire elementary students and show gratitude towards the many teachers that have impacted these graduating seniors’ lives.

Laurel Creek Elementary School was the first stop on the circuit. The group of seniors visiting entered the multipurpose room to claps and cheers. Kindergarten and first grade students could be heard saying, “Look, they are graduating. Congratulations.” As the Fairfield High seniors stood in front of the packed multipurpose room, each took a moment on the microphone to express their appreciation and sincere gratitude for the efforts of their elementary teachers. Many of these teachers are still working at Laurel Creek and were able to hear these inspirational words first hand. Joyful tears were shed by both the students and teachers as the graduates shared fond memories of their days as Laurel Creek Sharks.
