The Solano County School Boards Association held its annual dinner at SCOE on April 29. The Association is made up of school board members from Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield-Suisun, Travis, Vacaville, and Vallejo school boards. Dr. Jowel Laguerre, Superintendent/President of the Solano Community College District (SCC), and members of the SCC staff, gave a presentation on future facility plans for the college under recently passed Measure Q and recent legislative changes to the California community college system. After Dr. Laguerre’s presentation, the Association awarded scholarships to high school seniors who are planning on attending SCC in the fall.
